What does sustainability mean to an M&E engineering company?
At DLM, we believe sustainability is not something separate from our day-to-day business. It is reflected in how we design and deliver building systems, how we use resources, how we keep our people safe, and how we prepare our workforce and our business for the future.
This year marks an important milestone for us with the publication of the DLM Pte Ltd Sustainability Report FY2025 — our inaugural Sustainability Report.
For more than four decades, DLM has been part of Singapore’s built environment, providing mechanical and electrical engineering solutions across infrastructure, data centres, semiconductor and pharmaceutical facilities, as well as commercial, industrial, residential and education developments.
As the built environment continues to evolve, we recognise that our responsibility goes beyond completing projects. The systems we design, install and maintain can influence how efficiently and reliably buildings operate throughout their life cycle.
Our first Sustainability Report gives us an opportunity to look more closely at the impact of what we do, establish a clear baseline and identify where we can continue to improve.

We are continuing to improve the way we manage water, waste and resources across our operations:
Waste Reduction & Recycling
In FY2025, 21.1% of reported waste was diverted from disposal through recycling and recovery, including scrap metal and electrical components.
Better Environmental Data
Improve the collection and monitoring of environmental data so we can better measure our progress.
Greener Transportation
Explore greater fleet electrification and other lower-emission alternatives.
Improved Waste Tracking
Expand waste tracking across our operations and identify more opportunities for recycling and material recovery.
Efficient Resource Use
Continue finding practical ways to reduce energy, water and resource consumption.

Growing Our People
Buildings may be at the heart of our business, but people are at the heart of DLM.
Our employees bring our projects to life every day — from our engineers and project teams to our site personnel and corporate support functions. We believe that investing in our people is essential to building a stronger and more sustainable business.
264 Employees
At the end of FY2025, DLM had a diverse workforce of 264 employees working across our offices, project sites and service teams.
Learning & Development
184 employees participated in formal training, with 2,904 training hours across 71 training programmes during FY2025.
Building Future-Ready Skills
Our training covered workplace safety and compliance, technical and engineering competencies, equipment operation and trade skills, as well as sustainability and ESG awareness.

As technology, digitalisation and sustainability continue to reshape the M&E industry, we are committed to equipping our people with the skills, knowledge and opportunities they need for the future.
Safety Comes First
Everyone should be able to return home safely at the end of each working day. Our Health and Safety Management System is certified to ISO 45001:2018, and DLM holds both bizSAFE Star and bizSAFE Partner status.

Sustainability is also about how we conduct our business.
For DLM, operating responsibly means maintaining high standards of integrity, complying with the regulations and standards that govern our industry, managing risks appropriately and being accountable to the people and organisations that place their trust in us.
Our sustainability approach is therefore built around good governance, business ethics, risk management and responsible engagement with our customers, employees, subcontractors, suppliers, regulators and industry partners.
These principles support something that has always been important to DLM: doing our work properly, responsibly and professionally.

Our Journey Has Just Begun
We are proud to publish our first Sustainability Report, but we also recognise that this is only the beginning.
FY2025 provides us with a baseline. From here, we intend to improve the quality and coverage of our sustainability data, strengthen our reporting processes and explore meaningful targets for areas such as energy consumption, emissions and workplace safety.
Over the longer term, we aim to integrate sustainability considerations more deeply into procurement, operational planning, capability development and the way we deliver our projects. We will learn along the way, and we will continue to improve.
After more than 40 years in Singapore's M&E industry, our commitment remains straightforward: to build better, grow our people and operate responsibly.
Because for DLM, sustainability is not simply about producing a report.
It is about creating a better way of building — for our customers, our people, our communities and the generations that follow.
This report reflects our commitment to sustainable business practices and provides an overview of our environmental, social, and governance (ESG) initiatives, achievements, and future aspirations. We are proud to share the progress we have made on our sustainability journey and our efforts to create long-term value for our stakeholders.
