Job Description
The Service Engineer (ACMV) plays a key role in ensuring the smooth operation, maintenance, and servicing of Air Conditioning and Mechanical Ventilation (ACMV) systems. The role involves carrying out preventive and corrective maintenance, troubleshooting system faults, and supporting clients to ensure optimal system performance. The Service Engineer works closely with the Service Manager and other team members to deliver timely, safe, and high-quality service support.
Job Responsibilities:
Maintenance & Servicing
- Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance of ACMV systems, including chillers, AHUs, FCUs, VRV/VRF systems, and ducting.
- Perform troubleshooting, fault diagnosis, and repairs to ensure system reliability and efficiency.
- Conduct routine inspections, system testing, and commissioning of ACMV equipment.
- Ensure timely response to service calls and resolve technical issues with minimal downtime.
Site Monitoring & Reporting
- Record service activities, faults, and rectifications accurately in service reports.
- Monitor system performance and provide recommendations for improvements or upgrades.
- Escalate major issues or recurring faults to the Service Manager for further action.
- Ensure compliance with safety procedures and site regulations during all service activities.
Stakeholder & Client Support
- Liaise with clients to provide updates on service work, system status, and recommendations.
- Coordinate with subcontractors, vendors, and internal teams to ensure smooth execution of servicing tasks.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships through professional communication and reliable service delivery.
Documentation & Compliance
- Maintain accurate service records, checklists, and inspection logs.
- Ensure proper filing and documentation for traceability and compliance with ISO and company standards.
- Support the preparation of service reports and recommendations for client submission.
Continuous Improvement
- Provide feedback to management on recurring issues and suggest preventive measures.
- Keep updated on the latest ACMV technologies and servicing techniques.
- Support initiatives to improve service efficiency and customer satisfaction.
Job Requirements:
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in ACMV servicing and maintenance.
- Educational Qualifications: Diploma or NITEC in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services, or an equivalent qualification.
- Technical Expertise: Strong technical knowledge of ACMV systems, including equipment troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and repair.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with local building codes, safety regulations, and industry standards related to HVAC servicing.
- Communication & Interpersonal Skills: Good communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with clients, contractors, and team members.
- Software Proficiency: Basic knowledge of service management tools, Microsoft Office, and ability to read technical drawings.
- Analytical & Troubleshooting Skills: Strong problem-solving abilities with a hands-on approach to resolving technical issues.
